Anne Hoiberg's tireless work on behalf of women has made her one of California's leading and most-recognized advocates. A research psychologist, author and volunteer, she has made a lasting impact for women around the world. Anne is a past president of the League of Women Voters, United Nations Association of San Diego, and National Women’s Political Caucus. Currently, she serves as president of La Jolla Pen Women, International Museum of Human Rights at San Diego, and board president of the Women’s Museum of California (2010 – 2015 and 2019 – present). She has volunteered through the U.S. Department of State to serve as an election supervisor in emerging countries (eight missions).

In 2012, Anne was inducted into the San Diego County Women's Hall of Fame. She has been honored as the recipient of awards from the California 78th Assembly District, National Organization for Women, National Women’s Political Caucus, Soroptimist International of La Mesa, Moxie Theatre, and United Nations Association-USA. She is a free-lance writer and speaker on such topics as the history of the Women's Rights Movement, human trafficking, violence against women, women's political participation, world peace, the United Nations. Most recently, Anne has authored a book chronicling the stories of women refugees. Women's Empowerment International is honored to recognize Anne as its 2019 Woman of Empowerment.
