Every year, Women’s Empowerment International hosts a number of events to raise awareness and donations to fund microloans, training and services that enable women to start businesses, support their families and strengthen their communities.

Partner Presentation: Adelante Foundation
Thursday, October 5 | 12::00 – 12:45PM | Virtual/Zoom
Join WE for a special presentation by Jodi Fischer, Senior Director of Development, Adelante Foundation. Jodi leads Adelante’s U.S. based activities and fundraising initiatives. She regularly works with and visits the field office staff and Adelante borrowers. Jodi is currently residing in Roatan to be closer to the microfinance work of Adelante and help the Honduran team expand operations to the island and provide more women living in poverty with financial resources to start/grow their enterprises. Jodi will discuss her work there, as well as share updates on other WE-supported programming and the impact it has for women in Honduras.

Empowered WE Rise: Fall Fundraiser

Women’s Museum of California Tour & Workshop
Saturday, July 22 | 11AM – 12:30PM | Museum’s Education Center
Join WE for a special workshop and guided tour of their Crafting Feminism exhibit highlighting the progress of the women’s movement throughout the 20th and 21st centuries through the textiles women created. Connect with WE and be inspired to make positive change in our communities. Friends and family are welcome.

Summer Kick-off: A Friendraising Fundraiser

Join WE for a fundraiser celebrating summer’s start with a backyard, catered BBQ, music, door prizes, inspiration, connections, conversations, and women’s empowerment. All are welcome!

Salads & Starry Skies: Luncheon & Silent Auction Fundraiser
Saturday, May 6 | 11:00AM – 2PM | Santa Ysabel Nature Center
Presented by the WE Julian Giving Circle. Enjoy a luncheon menu of assorted scrumptious salads, rolls, desserts, and drinks; live music; beautiful views and great conversations; and the opportunity to bid on 20 fabulous silent auction items and themed baskets! Hear from Doug Sollosy from the Julian Dark Skies Network and Debbie McGraw-Block, WE President. You will also get to choose your own salad plate from a lovely and eclectic collection and take it home with you!

Partner Presentation : Multicolores, Guatemala

Hear from one of WE’s newest partners, Multicolores in Guatemala, about their work empowering female Maya artisans through traditional embroidery skills and design training, economic opportunities, and more. Additionally the Women’s Museum of California talks about their exhibit highlighting the importance of textiles and craftwork in women’s activism as a tool for artistic and political expression.

Join us for a fun celebration on International Women’s Day with “flowers to empower”! Learn more about our grant partners and their economic empowerment programs for women experiencing poverty, hear about a recent site visit to our partner in Guatemala, and enjoy the company of those who care about empowering women. Make and take home a beautiful rose bouquet, sip rosé and rose tea, enjoy music, and send notes of empowerment to women you know and those in our grant partner programs.
